The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Electrén have signed an agreement establishing the Electrén Chair in said university, which will focus its work on innovation and technological development in electric traction.
The agreement will promote collaboration between the Universidad Carlos III, interested in furthering the main purposes of its teaching and research activities —innovation and modernization of production systems, and Electrén, a company dedicated to engineering, installation and maintenance of overhead contact lines, traction substations and energy transformation and distribution for railways.
The Electrén chair will focus on science and technology fields of common interest, including joint projects. It will feature a common objective: to promote research and technological development in issues of concern for Electrén, related to the areas of engineering, assembly and maintenance of electric traction systems.
The protocol has been signed for a four year term, with future renewals by express agreement between Electrén and the university.
